Download once. Runs in the background.

Android lets you download apps directly from our website without going through an app store. That means we can offer the full service: install once and we handle almost everything automatically. Every time we add a new AI artist to our blocklist, your Spotify is updated silently in the background. Roughly once a year your session expires and we send you a notification to reconnect. It takes a few seconds. Outside of that, you do nothing.

Apple's App Store restrictions mean we can't offer the same automatic background service on iPhone that Android users get. The only option we can offer iOS users is our Chrome extension on a Mac or PC. You run a scan, it cleans your library. Run it again any time to pick up newly added artists.

How it works

Three steps. No account needed.

Install the extension
One click from the Chrome Web Store. Works on Chrome and Edge. No signup, no password, nothing to create.

Open Spotify in your browser
Go to open.spotify.com and log in as normal. The extension detects your session automatically. Nothing extra to click.

We clean your library
Your liked songs get scanned against our blocklist. Anything that flags as AI is removed. Run it again any time.
What gets removed
Any saved track whose artist appears on our blocklist of flagged AI artists. The list is updated daily as new AI accounts are found.
No special login required
The extension reads your existing Spotify browser session. We never ask you to grant OAuth permissions to a registered app. Your Spotify password never leaves Spotify.
Run it whenever you want
The blocklist updates as new AI artists are found. Run the scan again at any point and anything added to the list since last time gets caught.
False positives
If a real artist gets removed by mistake, restore them from your Spotify history and report it to us. We review every report and update the blocklist accordingly. We make mistakes sometimes (we're human!)

What gets blocked
Every artist on our blocklist gets blocked on your Spotify account. When we add new ones, they get blocked automatically.
No Spotify account needed
The app reads your existing Spotify session. We never ask for your password or grant permissions through a registered app. Your Spotify login stays with Spotify.
Runs in the background
Once connected, the app checks for blocklist updates in the background. Your library stays clean without you doing anything.
False positives
If a real artist gets blocked by mistake, unblock them from their Spotify page and report it to us. We review every report and update the blocklist accordingly.
Staying connected
The connection runs on your Spotify session, which lasts about a year. When it expires, we send a push notification. Open the app, tap reconnect, done. Takes a few seconds. You'd also need to reconnect if you log out of Spotify or change your password.
The blocklist

The blocklist covers thousands of flagged AI artist accounts on Spotify. We update it daily as new AI accounts are found and flagged.

We run detection checks on top of the list. Any Spotify account distributing through a known AI generation platform gets flagged automatically. Artists with an inhuman release rate, like 20 albums in 90 days, get added too.

The list will never be complete. AI accounts get created faster than anyone can track them. But we cover as much as we can, and won't stop.

About

Spotify is overwhelmed by AI-generated music. Tracks produced by AI tools are being uploaded to the platform faster than it can handle, flooding recommendations, showing up in Discover Weekly, and ending up saved in people's libraries without them knowing.

Spotify calls this content PFC, or Programmatically Functional Content. They are aware it exists. At the moment, they have not been able to give users a way to filter it out.

RealSongCheck is a Chrome extension that addresses this. Install it, open Spotify in your browser, and it scans your library against our blocklist of flagged AI artists. Anything that matches gets removed.

How we know what's AI

We maintain a blocklist of thousands of flagged AI artist accounts on Spotify, updated daily. On top of that, we automatically identify artists who distribute exclusively through AI music generation platforms, and flag accounts with release rates no human artist could sustain.

The detection will miss things. New AI accounts are created faster than anyone can track them. What we catch is a large portion of what is currently on the platform.

Have you stumbled upon an AI track we missed? Report it here. Every report is checked by a real human. We aim to review and update you within 48 hours.

Please fill out your reasonings in as much detail as possible. The more we have, the more accurate we can be.
Suspicious signals include an artist releasing a volume of music beyond any realistic human capacity. You can also check the song at submithub.com/ai-song-checker and report here if it flags as AI. The more specific you are, the faster we can verify.
Report received
We'll check it against our detection signals. We aim to review within 48 hours. If it's confirmed AI-generated, it gets added to our detection database and won't appear in any user's library again.

Challenge a removal

Have we accidentally flagged a real song as AI? You can appeal false positives here. Every appeal gets read by a human. We update our database when we get it wrong.

Warning: appeals take time, and we can't promise reinstatement. Please provide as much evidence of human authorship and/or reasonable doubt as you can. If we agree, we whitelist the track, and it won't be flagged again.
Things that won't cut it: streaming links, playlist appearances, or live performances. AI-generated music can be performed live, so that proves nothing about who made it.

We'll read what you sent and get back to you within a few days. We review every appeal ourselves.

If the evidence checks out, the track is added to our verified whitelist and won't be flagged again.
